- Humore is run by Lucas Jeffcoate in the UK. Questions about your data go to lucas@humore.co.uk.
- Our workplace surveys don't ask for your name. Your organisation sees themes and results by group, never your individual answers.
- If you volunteer for an interview, your name and email are stored separately from your survey answers, with nothing linking the two.
- In The Practice, your daily conversations stay on your device. We don't store them on our servers.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who we are
Humore is run by Lucas Jeffcoate, based in the UK. For the personal information described here, Lucas Jeffcoate (trading as Humore) is the controller, which means we decide how and why it's used. You can reach us at lucas@humore.co.uk.
Workplace surveys
When your organisation works with Humore, we run a private survey for its people. You reach it through a link and an access code from your organisation.
What we collect
- Your job title.
- If you choose to give them: your level, your team and how long you've worked there.
- Your answers, including anything you write in your own words.
- The date and time you sent your answers.
We don't ask for your name or email in the survey. Please don't include details that identify you or other people in your written answers.
How we use it
We analyse the answers to understand how people across your organisation are experiencing AI at work, and we share themes, results by group, and recommendations with your organisation. We may quote short extracts from written answers, without anything that could identify who wrote them.
Your organisation never sees your individual answers, and we don't report results for groups so small that a person could be picked out.
To help with the analysis, we use Anthropic's Claude AI to sort and summarise the answers, including what people write in their own words. A person reads every answer and makes every judgement in what we share with your organisation, and nothing is used to make decisions about you. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it doesn't use this data to train its models.
We keep a working copy of the answers in a private Google spreadsheet that only we can open. It leaves out job titles, is never shared with your organisation, and is deleted on the same date as the answers themselves.
We rely on legitimate interests to do this: helping your organisation understand how its people feel about a change that affects them, and act on it. We run the survey under an agreement with your organisation that sets out how answers are handled.
While you're answering
So you can stop and come back later, the survey saves your progress in your browser on your device. It's cleared once you send your answers.
Interviews
At the end of the survey, you can volunteer for a one-to-one conversation with Humore. If you do, we ask for your name and email address, and use them only to arrange the interview.
Your name and email are stored separately from your survey answers, with nothing that links them together. What you say in an interview is treated the same way as the survey: it informs themes and recommendations, and isn't attributed to you in anything we share with your organisation.
If you agree at the start, we record or transcribe the conversation so we can make an accurate note of it. The note leaves out your name and anything else that could identify you. We delete the recording and transcript once the note is written. If you'd rather not be recorded, just say, and we'll take notes by hand instead.
We rely on your consent for this. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us, and we'll delete your details.
The Practice
The Practice is Humore's app: a short daily conversation that builds seven human capacities.
What we collect
- Your email address, and your sign-in through Google or an email link.
- Your account details: when your trial started and ends, and your subscription status.
- A daily count of how often the app's AI features are used, to keep the service fair and affordable.
- If you subscribe: payment details, which are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- If your organisation gave you a code: which organisation's code you used, and when. Your organisation never sees your conversations or anything about how you personally use the app.
Your conversations
Your daily conversations and reflections are stored on your device, not on our servers. When you talk to The Practice, what you write is sent through our server to Anthropic, whose Claude models write the replies. Anthropic processes it to respond and, under its commercial terms, doesn't use it to train its models.
We rely on our contract with you to provide the app.
Getting in touch
If you email us or ask to book a conversation, we use your name, contact details and message to reply and to arrange that conversation. We rely on legitimate interests to do this.
How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Survey answers, including our private working copy | Until 12 months after the project with your organisation ends, then deleted. |
| Interview names and emails | Until the interviews are done, and no more than 6 months after the survey closes. |
| Interview recordings and transcripts | Deleted once the note of the conversation is written. |
| Interview notes (with nothing that identifies you) | Until 12 months after the project with your organisation ends, then deleted. |
| The Practice account | While your account is open. Ask us and we'll delete it. |
| Emails and enquiries | As long as we need them to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, up to 2 years. |
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of trusted services to run Humore. Each one only handles what it needs to.
- Supabase stores survey answers, interview requests, enquiries from the contact form and app accounts, and handles sign-in. Its database is hosted in the EU (Ireland).
- Vercel hosts this website, runs the server code that receives your answers, and counts visits to the site.
- Anthropic provides the AI that writes replies in The Practice, and the AI that helps us analyse survey answers and interview notes.
- Google provides our email, calendar and file storage. That includes the private working copy of survey answers, interview notes and the documents we make for your organisation. Google also handles sign-in if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Stripe handles payments for The Practice.
- Resend sends us an email when you get in touch through the contact form.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum.
Cookies and storage on your device
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. To see how the site is used, we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you: it records the page, where you came from, and your country and type of device. It isn't used on the survey or in The Practice. The survey and The Practice use your browser's storage to remember your progress and keep you signed in. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct it if it's wrong;
- delete it;
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to it;
- send it to you or another organisation in a portable format.
Email lucas@humore.co.uk. Because survey answers don't carry a name, we may need your organisation, your job title and roughly when you answered to find yours.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
